Comments :	To the fmaily and friends of Mike LaRosa,It is October 19th, 2008 and I just found out that Mike passed away. I am truly shocked and sorry. Even though our paths never crossed in New York City after 9-11, I did meet him at the nursing facility where both my dad and his mom were/ Dunmore, Pa. I was introduced to him by the workers there and I was amazed to know that he worked a Ground Zero.He was always so wonderful with his mom on the occasions that I saw him and she was so patient and sweet. But his demeanor was as as calming as hers. He always remembered the workers there by bringing pastries on Sunday Morning. He was kind enough to give me a book about the work at Ground Zero because I volunteered at Point Thank You. I do hope that I am worthy of signing this guest book because he is so esteemed for having surpassed the fulfillment of his duties both in his personal and public life. This is a true hero in every sense of the word; everyone should aspire to be so great.Thank You,Lenore Fiore Mills

Mike was a great guy who loved his family, being a fireman, and his boys. His sense of humor and charisma was contageous. He will be painfully missed but I am glad to have had him in my life even though it seemed to short. If you were lucky enough to have known him you will always have a story to remember him by. He brought many many tears of laughter and now tears of joy. He was a true legend.

You are all in my prayers each day and are with me ALWAYS as I wear a replica of the bracelet Mike gave me ( I wore out the red one and had a sterling one engraved with the same message )and it actually stays on me at all times, the engraved cross from the steel of the twin towers is on my mantle, the lithograph of Squad 252 hangs in my living room, and my big red suburban has a Never Forget September 11th license plate in the front and a "God bless our FDNY brothers " sticker in the back. I’m hoping one of you will be able to help me locate a photo from the Tribeca Film Festival, May 2004 (I think) The festival screened the movie Brotherhood and afterwards we all went to the Winter Garden for a party. Its not only a great tool that is out there on how your specific squad does things but on how the firehouse life is. Comments :	Brothers of FDNY Squad 252. Bought the DVD Brotherhood and I gotta say you boys do one HELL of a job. Makes me proud of the line of work I chose to get into. I posted earlier in Oct. of 06. Visited a few houses in August of 07. Ladder 49/Engine 68 up in the Bronx. Ten House in lower Manhattan, and others. Wanted to get over to Bushwick to visit the great guys at squad 252 but didn’t get the chance. Maybe someday. I too work as a HAZMAT Tech and I find the added training and education to be a huge plus to me as a firefighter. Keep doing the excellent job you are doing and stay safe. I am so sorry for the recent losses that the FDNY has suffered. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I know you guys will conitnue on. Take care.Sam

I copied and pasted my myspace blog I wrote after riding in the Red Knights MC NC6 initial 343 run. I am wearing Tommy’s dog tag pinned to my lapel today as well. Thanks for all you do. CherylToday I had the privilege of riding in the Red Knights NC6 inaugural 343 run in honor of the 343 firefighters that lost their lives on 9/11/2001. The Red Knights raised $6,500.00 for the North Carolina Burn Center. The Red Knights ROCK! We rode through the streets of Wilmington, over 250 of us, wrecking havoc with already terrible traffic, catching stares and waves from many. It was a lot of fun. After the ride we were treated to the usual BBQ, slaw, beans and cold drinks. When we registered for the ride, the first 343 were given dog tags with the name of one of the 343 fallen fire fighters. My fire fighters name was Tommy Kuveikis. He was born Thomas Joseph Kuveikis. He grew up in Brooklyn where he attended Blessed Sacrament Elementary School and graduated from Wheatley High School in 1971.He joined the New York Fire Department (FDNY) in 1974 when he was 24 years old following in his father’s foot steps. Tommy had been a firefighter for twenty-four years and a member of Squad 252 ("In Squad We Trust" was their motto) for five years when his squad answered the fifth alarm at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, at 9:00 a.m. He was forty-eight years old that day. CNN footage shows his squad pulling up to the east side of the Trade Center around 9:28 a.m. The six members of the squad entered the north tower, rescued a man from an elevator.Two of the firefighters’ bodies were found in the C stairwell 18 days later. The other four men of Squad 252, including Tommy, were never found. Today I rode with Tommy Kuveikis’s name pinned to my lapel and honored him as a hero who gave the ultimate sacrifice

For sending a special word of "Thanks" to one of the best squads in Brooklyn, for doing exactly what God has called you to do, by putting your lives on the line each and every day, and for those of us who might never get a chance to say "Thank you" and meet you face to face.2. By giving one of the ’best’ squads around a ’heads-up’ on an idea I’ve been thinking about for sometime now, especially now that the powers that be have done away with the calendars.2a. Here’s my idea. Since firefighters are such wonderful cooks, and New York City is filled with so many diverse restaurants, how about a ’special’ restaurant manned by firefighter chefs? A nice cozy restaurant where there’s a ’real’ (o.k., I’d be willing to go with a replica, as long as it’s as close to the real thing as possible.) fire truck and other accessories for the public to view.2b. A restaurant where the patrons might even be able to not only get excellent food, but also buy firefighter items like jackets, cooking items, take out food, etc.2c. I have some other things in mind, but since you guys/gals would know more about this than I would, so the rest would be up to you.Last of all, I think I’ve found the perfect location. The old horses stable(?) building on Gates Avenue near the bank (the one in the middle of the block). This would make a perfect ’starting point’ until the next "Firehouse Restaurant" is opened.So, what do you think fellas? Thanks for letting me write. Sorry to say that Worcester does not have any Volunteer Firefighters, but I have regained my EMT cert. and have been accepted to the Paramedic program. Steve was a great Chief of RHFD and a good friend. Peter Langone & Tom Langone were great Firefighters and friends aswell. I use to see pete almost every day getting his truck ready for work. Always had a postive outlook on everything. The Langone Brothers will alawys be in my thoughts. Steve good luck with all your endevers w/ FDNY.

When I bought it in Indianapolis at the FDIC covention in 2005, I had the honor of meeting Captain Metcalf of Squad 252, who signed the cover of the DVD for me. It is cool how you have the HAZMAT rig in back of the squad, myself and my assistant chief are the only firefighters in the station that are HAZMAT Technicians. You guys take care, and be safe.

Comments :	I have a brother, Kevin Michael Prior also. He also was there at 911. He lives in the Gateway Plaza directly across from where the Twin Towers once stood. My brother decided to stay behind and help rather than leave the City that terrible day. Like your Kevin’s family, we did not know that Kevin was still alive until sometime the following day. We simply sat and watched the entire thing on television not knowing what to do. Quite a few Fireman came down to our Uncle’s home much later to tell us how grateful they were that Kevin stayed behind to help. Kevin and our entire family have the utmost respect and gratitude for all of you including your Kevin M. Prior and are so thankful that you were there that day regardless of the terrible outcome. Without you we wouldn’t have come as far as we have. I also wanted to stay that the name Kevin Michael Prior means bravery and courage and love to my entire family and I’m sure to his. Comments :	Started my fire suppression days in Silver Spring Maryland was IAFF Charter President of Local 2331 Salisbury, MD in 1973 and meet Joe Jardin when he came to the UMCP and joined the CPVFD You just knew that he was different in many ways and one hell of person let alone on how good he was riding the seat as officer for several years Now on the Squad as a LT he again makes his mark as a person who really cares while being a good officer It takes a lot to do both and you are lucky to have him as your Lt and friend Just saw him this weekend down here in Maryland and again I am impressed with him as a outstanding person that just happens to be on the FDNY

The name on the bracelet that I received was Patrick Lyons of Squad 252. I have done a lot of research on him as well as the unit he worked with. I was a member back in the late 80’s and early 90’s before moving to NC and becoming a police officer in Charlotte. I was up there when Pete Langone was a member there along with his brother Tommy. I am a good friend of Steve Mocklen and worked with him at Long Island University prior to his joining the FD. I was watching many of the 9-11 shows tonight (9/11/06) and at the 9:43 pm hour of Glen Beck they showed some fire fighters on that fatefull day (9/11/01) gearing up at the truck and I could not believe my eyes when I recognised that the one they focused on was Pete Langone. I replayed it a dozen times and sure enough it was him. He was special, just like the 342 other fire fighters like him who were on the job. My heart still bleeds for the losses that day, and I tip my hat and raise my glass to you all. If there is someone that looks through these please tell Steve Mockler that "Uber" said hi and I miss him and the gang from Roslyn. Comments :	Looking for Lt.Chuisano saw him on the DVD called Brotherhood and i know that it was taken a few years ago. In the tape he was weren a baseball cap that said FDNY Lacrosse and i have been looking for one for my son.I stop by Rescue 1 two years ago and talked to one of the firefighters he said he know someone that could help me and i gave my address and never herd back. I always had a good time in 252 i learned a lot, went to a lot of fires went to a lot of drills, and i learned a lot from you guys.
