Comments :	On September 14,2007 members of the La Plata Volunteer Fire Department responded to Crane Highway and Washington Ave on a reported MVA with one trapped. The trapped victim was my niece . She was critically injured and her condition was deteriorating. Because of your quick response and the efforts of your department my niece survived and is now recovering at home. As a native of Charles County and a 1982 graduate of La Plata High School I have always admired the La Plata Volunteer Fire Department. My admiration and respect for the men and women of your department has increased immensely since Sept 14. On September 14 my niece was involved in an MVA at the intersection on Crain Highway and Washington Ave. Your station responded along with MSP 7 and Charles County EMS. After copmleting extrication my niece was transported PG Hospital Trauma Center with life threatening injuries. Your quick assessment and handling of the situation saved Alicia’s life. I cant’ thank you enough for your dedication and srvice.As a fellow fire fighter I have responded to hundreds of pin jobs and fires. Nothing prepared me for seeing one of my own family members lying in a trauma center. I rest alot easier knowing you guys are there to take care of business. God Bless you for all you do to serve and protect Charles County. I travel back to Charles County at least once a year. do you offer a ride along program.

Our son was the driver of the car that hit the school bus. We appreciate the hard work and dedication that each one of you bring to the department. Our son spent 2 weeks in PG hospital and recently started physical therapy for his right leg. We lived in LaPlata for 5 years and you all are so active in the community. I am thankful for law enforcement and all of the emergency service providers that serve our communities. The exact reason I was on the website is to take a look at one of the accidents that you have displayed. My dear friend died in the car accident on Hawthorne Road May 1st, 2006. Comments :	I want to thank Matt for coming to the hospital last Saturday 10/8/05 (Civesta in La Plata) to give his concerns regarding one of your firemen (Francis E. Thompson). I spoke with Matt by phone yesterday and he inform me about hearing about Francis (Woody) departing early Sunday morning, this is a shock to his family still and I so much love my brother. But again I want Matt to know that I appreciate his calls and concerns regarding one of his team member. Matt may God Bless you and all the other firefighters, and I know Francis is at peace.Thanks again for everything.....
